As we get closer to our first NFT sale events, we want to introduce users who are new to blockchain technology on how to start using a wallet and how cryptocurrencies can be used!

We’ll provide guidelines for Hiro wallet, the Stacks wallet our platform accepts at the moment. It’s a cryptocurrency wallet compatible with the Stacks blockchain needed to interact with City Cats.

Cryptocurrency Wallets

Cryptocurrency wallets are software that manages your cryptocurrencies and allows you to interact with blockchain technologies. You can use this digital wallet in the NFT marketplace to mint and trade your NFT using Stacks blockchain.

Every time you need to interact with a website that uses blockchain technology, you will get a notification to authorize said website to access your information and keep track of the transactions made within your wallet.

Your wallet allows you to visualize and manage any asset that you buy in a permissionless fashion. As an example, an NFT asset that you mint from City Cats website can later be sold on other marketplaces like STXNFT, without our approval, and with the same wallet. Stacks wallets (eg. Hiro & Xverse) enable to interact will all decentralized applications based on Stacks; it facilitates interoperability.

Uses

Cryptocurrency wallets enable you to interact with blockchains while remaining in control of your funds and assets. As long as you have access to your wallet, your virtual goods will be accessible on it regardless of the state of game or website where you purchased it, meaning that you will be able to sell it again or exchange it for another cryptocurrency. It provides true ownership of everything that you buy.

Hiro Wallet (№1 stacks wallet)

Hiro Wallet is one of the wallets that we are currently using in Stacks network. To use this wallet you’ll need to install a plugin extension — follow the link below:

Once installed, you will be able to link your wallet into our website to mint City Cats NFT.

Getting STX

STX (Stacks token) is Stacks blockchain’s native asset.

To interact with a blockchain and their applications you need to possess STX token, so you will need to convert Fiat currency — aka real-world money like USD or EUR — to STX.

Many wallets and marketplaces recommend Coinbase to begin with the process of converting your Fiat currency and starting in the blockchain ecosystem.

Alternatively, you can purchase on platforms such as Moonpay or Transak through plugins in the Hiro wallet.
